Shaun Lowthian
Shaun is one-half of improv and film-making duo The Homunculus, with Tim Grewcock. Spokke, their Scandi Noir-inspired comedy short and miniseries, was nominated for Writers’ Guild and Royal Television Society Awards in 2019/20. As a writer, Shaun’s award-winning sitcom pilot Karl Marx: The Hacienda Years is currently in development. Suggestion Box, his Substack on improv and creativity is for free available here.
Shaun also performed with The Free Association from 2015 to 2023, on house team The Wilsons and headline show Jacuzii. As The FA’s Head of Creative Development he created, performed and directed in hit shows Winner, 3, St Doctor’s Hospital and The Badge. Shaun featured in theatre-meets-improv show Uncle Glen’s Menagerie from 2017 to 2023.
TV Credits include ‘Off The Top’ (YouTubeLA/EpicLloyd), ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ (BBC One) and Quickies (BBC Three). His writing has featured in Newsjack and Newsjack Unplugged (BBC Radio 4). Shaun can be heard in podcasts Fact Up, Jetskii, and guesting in I Will Write Your Book and Mind Canyon. He has trained in improv with the Second City, iO, UCB, the Free Association and Monkey Toast UK.
